September Construction Spending Down But Beats Expectations

Washington November 3 - US construction spending in September fell less than expected as private building held relatively steady, softening the first decline in public construction spending in eight months, the Commerce Department said today.

Total US construction fell 0.3% in September, less than the 0.8% decline economists polled by Thomson Reuters IFR Markets had expected. Construction in August was upwardly revised to a 0.3% rise from the unchanged previous estimate. Read more...
