Trimble

August 1, 2007

trimbleWith addition of seven new GPS receivers and smart GPS antennae for heavy and highway contractors, Trimble now claims to have the widest selection of location and precise GPS solutions on the market. The new collection allows customers to upgrade technology as work demands, new signals are activated, or finances become available. The new receivers use Trimble’s RTK Engine, designed for faster initialization, and track the L2C GPS signals. Some can be upgraded to include GLONASS and L5 signals. The Trimble SPS551 and SPS551H Modular Receivers provide decimeter-level positioning for land and marine construction. The SPS551H GPS Receiver is an add-on heading receiver for use in marine applications requiring vessel position and heading, such as dredging and piling placement. The SPS651 Modular GPS Receiver is for use on marine vessels or as part of the new Trimble Site Supervisor System, with typical 10cm horizontal accuracy and 2cm vertical accuracy. The SPS751 and SPS851 Modular GPS Receivers are for base station setups on construction sites as well as for vehicle, vessel or pole-mounted rovers. The receivers simplify construction GPS use with Autobase, a feature that allows the user set up the receiver with a single button push. The Trimble SPS781 and SPS881 Smart GPS Antennas set up and take down fast. By integrating the GPS receiver, radio, and GPS antenna in one housing, setup time is drastically reduced.
