Ammann Overhauls Designs

When developing the AC 110-2 soil compactor, Ammann says its engineers "stepped away from the conventional and set new standards in design." Among the features of the new design are a centrally positioned, transversely mounted engine, aimed at lowering the center of gravity and enhancing stability, and the use of "world-class" components, including Cummins, Sauer-Sundstrand and ZF. Ammann's new line of AV-Series tandem vibratory asphalt compactors also has been refined, with 1.5-inch drum offsets, water-cooled Yanmar diesel engines and maintenance-free center joints.
