Nov. 29, 2010

The Association of Equipment Management Professionals Telematics Data Standard promises easier, more accurate, and quicker flow of machine data into asset-management systems. The standard allows fleets to import five key machine data points in a generic format into its fleet-management software system. Initial data points are: location, cumulative hours, cumulative fuel used, fuel used in the past 24 hours, and distance traveled. The standard is available to the industry at no charge, and can be downloaded at  http://aemp.org/resources/telematics.html.
