Soil Stabilizing Equipment

Introductions

Casagrande

Available in North America via Casagrande USA, Inc., new cutter soil mixing rigs combine components from French-based drilling systems manufacturer TEC with Italian-made Casagrande base carriers. Soil-mixing drums are mounted on a dual-motor frame, connected to the base carrier by a special Kelly bar. The drums, or cutters, are available in diameters of about 95 and 110 inches, and in various widths ranging from about 19.5 to 42 inches. For use by foundation contractors, the cutting tools mount on a variety of carriers, delivering soil mixing at depths ranging from about 56 to 115 feet, depending on the Kelly bar used. Cutter soil mixing can be used to construct temporary diaphragm walls, cut-off walls and punctual-oblong elements. - 7/1/2009
